Our Mission
Our mission is to cultivate and support the jazz genre in Barbados by hosting live performances, fostering jazz education, and providing a platform for local, regional, and international jazz musicians. Through our initiatives, we seek to keep jazz alive, celebrate its rich history, and inspire future generations of jazz artists and enthusiasts.
What we do
Our History

In 2011, former members of the Barbados Jazz Society, along with jazz musicians and devoted supporters, came together to revitalize the Society. This renewal aimed to reinforce BJS’s commitment to supporting jazz through a diverse range of events, educational programs, and collaborations with international organizations. Since then, BJS has continued to champion the growth and development of jazz in Barbados.
BJS is committed to fostering a deeper appreciation for jazz, elevating the status of jazz musicians, and building a stronger jazz culture in Barbados. We aim to ensure that jazz remains a thriving and respected art form within our local music scene and beyond.
